- Principle to live by: You are what you think! It is so easy to speak to yourself in a self-critical way. You have to actively work to create automatic positive thoughts to create those neural pathways in your head. Faking it til you make it, is simple neuroscience!
Considerate, Communicative, Resourceful
Hi! I’m Chioma! I am an Academic Coach for Staying Ahead of the Game LLC. I have my Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health from the University of Texas at Austin and MPH in Epidemiology from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. I have worked as a substitute teacher for both Kipp Schools Texas and Lamar Consolidated School District in Rosenberg. I also taught as an English instructor in Ulsan, South Korea for students aged 7-15. I worked as a special education long-term aide with Lamar Consolidated and also worked with students with ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning differences while in Korea. School is essentially a microcosm of society. It’s where we learn the social skills necessary to maneuver the world. It’s where we learn essential knowledge that stays with us for the rest of our lives. It’s practice for the real world. If done right, school is where we experience diverse perspectives, cultures, and challenges in a safe environment where we can make mistakes and hone these social skills.
