Hi! I’m Jessica! I am an Academic Coach for Staying Ahead of the Game LLC. I have a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Education from the University of Houston. I have over 4 years of classroom and mentorship experience, and I am currently a Professional Educator.
I love the motivational aspect of coaching. In order to succeed (whether it be academics, sports or social settings) you must have the drive to push yourself out of your comfort zone. I always look forward to helping my students be better tomorrow than they were yesterday! I hope to pass on the notion that it is crucial to our development that we all are constantly evolving and improving. In order to foster a healthy teaching/learning environment, the student has to feel comfortable. I pride myself on being intentional when forming relationships with my students. I want them to feel safe and comfortable with sharing their thoughts. I believe this yields the best results and students are thus able to thrive academically.
