Hi! I’m Jose! I am an Academic Coach for Staying Ahead of the Game LLC. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University and I’m currently working on my Bachelor’s in Medical Dosimetry at UT MD Anderson. I have experience being a math tutor working with students from kindergarten through 12th grade. I love the connections I make with kids and seeing them grow in their studies. I hope to teach them that it’s okay to fail! Learn what you missed and know how to do it well the next time. When teaching a certain topic, I use the socratic teaching method so that the student has full mastery over that topic. So for example, if I am teaching a student that the slope of a vertical line is undefined, I ask the student why. By asking the student why, it makes them think outside of the box and apply that knowledge to other topics.
