Hi! I am Kayla! I am an Academic Coach for Staying Ahead of the Game LLC. I have a Bachelor’s degree from University of Houston in Hotel and Restaurant Management. I’m currently working on my Masters in Biology. I have taught for over three years and I am certified in Special Education K-12 as well as Early Childhood-6th grade. I was a first grade teacher in a Title I school for two years, a first grade teacher in a non-Title I school for one year, and also a special education teacher for one year. I believe my empathy really helps me to be successful with students. Allowing some room for them to feel comfortable and accepted is something I pride myself in. School is important because it can give students access to a different lifestyle that they might not have been able to attain without proper education. School also helps build socialization skills and builds the foundation of being able to follow rules and procedures. I love the one-on-one connection you get with coaching and the ability to dedicate and tailor their goals on an individual basis!
