Hi! I’m Melissa! I am an Academic Coach for Staying Ahead of the Game. I have a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Texas State University and Master’s Degree in clinical and mental health counseling from the University of Houston Victoria – Katy Campus. I currently work at Texas Southern University where I oversee the operations of the Career and Development Center. Staying Ahead of the Game has given me the opportunity to stay connected with students and help them learn the skills to be successful in the future. I look forward to helping students become reliable and organized in their day to day lives. I believe that the most important lesson I can share with my students is to be true to themselves and to remember who they are.
