Hi! I’m Oscar! I’m an Academic Coach with Staying Ahead of the Game LLC. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Universidad del Valle de México and my Master’s degree in Counseling. I also hold a Texas Educator Certificate as a Bilingual Generalist EC-6 and in Languages Other Than English-Spanish. With over a decade of classroom teaching experience, I specialize in elementary mathematics instruction, curriculum development, and individual student mentoring.
I chose SAOTG because I believe learning goes far beyond memorizing facts-it’s about building life habits, confidence, and self-efficacy. What I love most about coaching is seeing that “lightbulb” moment when a student goes from feeling overwhelmed by a challenging concept to feeling capable and in control of their own progress. I hope to teach students that consistency and mindset can take them further than talent alone, and that mistakes are simply feedback that helps us grow.
