Hi! I’m Andrea! I am an Academic Coach for Staying Ahead of the Game. I have a bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering from Rice University. I am currently a medical student at McGovern Medical School- University of Texas – Houston Medical School.
Among the many things I am passionate about, teaching and tutoring rank high on the list. I love that SAOTG offers the unique service of incorporating skills vital to success in all fields and throughout a person’s life. I really enjoy bonding with all the students I work with. It is important to me to understand what motivates my students. I love assisting my students in overcoming their fears and accomplishing their goals especially those that they previously may have thought unattainable. I always encourage my students to have a growth mindset. I will share with them the importance of understanding that the way we perceive our own aptitude has a large impact on our personal goals. We limit ourselves when we give ourselves reason as to why we cannot versus finding avenues to ‘just do it’
