Selfless, Encourager, Persistent
Hi! I’m Chaille! I am an Academic Coach for Staying Ahead of the Game. I graduated from The University of Houston in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies. I am also certified in ESL (English Second Language). Since graduating from college, I chose to exceed the minimum requirements and attend approximately 50 hours a year of professional teaching development. Not only do I value my own education, but I am also inspired by the “lightbulb moments” students have when they find success in an area that used to be a struggle.
If I could give a tip to my school-aged self, I would say, “Don’t give up because things seem difficult.” Confidence can be built from the perseverance it takes to get through a difficult task. I also teach my students to place value in experiences outside of school. Through my experiences volunteering in a shelter after Hurricane Katrina, I gained a new sense of appreciation for things that I took for granted. I encourage my students to find ways to be grateful in their own lives by seeking high quality experiences outside of the classroom.
