Hi! I’m Chernise! I am an Academic Coach for Staying Ahead of the Game. I have a bachelor’s degree in English from Sam Houston State University and I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in International Economics and Development through the University of Oklahoma.
I have had several years of experience working with students. I have had experience working with high school students, discussing college and university expectations. I have also had experience working as an academic advisor for four years at Sam Houston State University. In my role as an academic advisor I found that it is important for students to have assistance as the transition from high school to college. I have always enjoyed supporting students who are struggling and need an extra push to succeed. I always share with my students that it is important to never give in and never give up.
