Hi! I’m Shana! I am an Academic Coach for Staying Ahead of the Game LLC. I have dual bachelors’ degrees in Philosophy and Psychology from Tufts University. I also earned my J.D. from Northeastern School of Law. While in Boston, I became a certified High School English Teacher. After moving to Houston I have completed a number of professional development and training courses in Special Education Law and advocacy as well as a fellowship through the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities on Disability Law. I have both coached academic teams (Odyssey of the Mind, and Name That Book) at the elementary level, as well as tutored learners at levels ranging from elementary through law students. I believe that everyone can learn and it’s my job to help student’s figure out how their brain needs to be supported so that they can enjoy the process of education.
