Hi! I’m Tevena! I’m an Academic Coach with Staying Ahead of the Game LLC. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communication with a minor in Criminal Justice from the University of Houston-Downtown, and I am currently pursuing my Juris Doctor at Trinity Law School, with an expected graduation in 2027.
My background combines education and legal training, with certifications in teaching, legal ethics, confidentiality, mandated reporting, courtroom procedures, and records management. I’ve worked with diverse and high-risk populations, developing a strong foundation in communication, critical thinking, and student support.
I chose SAOTG because its mission to empower and support youth aligns closely with my passion for education and community impact. I’m especially drawn to its proactive approach, helping students succeed before they fall behind. What I love most about coaching is being able to meet students where they are, helping them build confidence, stay organized, and realize their full potential through personalized support.
I hope to inspire students to stay positive, remain eager to learn, and push beyond their comfort zones. Growth happens when we take risks, and I strive to help students embrace that mindset in both academics and life.
