Hi! I’m Vanessa! I am an Academic Coach for Staying Ahead of the Game. I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in history from The University of Houston. I also hold a master’s degree in school and information library science. I have over 20 years of teaching experience and have my teaching certifications in English and Language Arts and Reading for grades 4-12. I also have experience working as a school librarian and my superpower is connecting students with Just the Right Book! As a coach with SAOTG, I really love that I can connect with students one-on-one and help them with their specific needs. I always remind my students that they can overcome obstacles and that mistakes are good ways to learn and grow and can turn out to be very rewarding.
